Reconnecting on the banks of history – The Lodge at Métis Crossing is located directly on a historical Métis river lot. These river lot properties were traditionally owned by Métis families and were the site of family life, farming, and life on the land.
Overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, guests should anticipate an inevitable draw towards finding themselves summoned by a sense of nostalgia and wonder about what came before.
Looking out across the horizon, you can’t help but be curious about the ancestors who discovered this place, paddling along that river as early fur traders.
You will almost surely find yourself imagining the squeak of the red river carts along Victoria Trail as the Métis move further west ahead of the European settlers. Finally, you will see images in your mind of their excitement as they arrive at this place where you now stand on the banks of history.
The Lodge at Métis Crossing was designed and built to honour the adventurous, entrepreneurial, and resilient spirit of our Métis ancestors.
